I’ve known Marcus Hulsey for 10 years. In that time, few people have been a stronger support in my life. Marcus has shown me incredible compassion and accountability. He has been a shoulder to cry on; He has also been a drill sergeant; but he always knows which one he needs to be in every situation. I’m always blown away at his ability to break bread and find common ground with anyone and everyone he interacted with. When we first met Marcus treated me with a respect I hadn’t earned while also guiding me to be a better person. I didn’t realize it at the time, but Marcus was leading me in what I only saw as a genuine friendship. He so effortlessly dug into every aspect of my life and determined where I was at in my heart and my mind. I believe that is his most vibrant gift. He can meet me right where I’m at. He never asks me to catch up to him. He never makes me feel like he’s dragging me behind. In more recent years Marcus guided my wife and I through pre-marriage counseling and was the officiant at our wedding. He has been ever present in my life from the beginning. He’s never once asked for anything in return. Because he feels his serving me is the reward in itself. I don’t deserve a fraction of the kindness and grace he has shown me, but still every day he is there with a smile and a laugh. There is nobody I hold in higher regard than Marcus Hulsey and I am honored to be able to call him a friend.

In the 10 or so years since I've known Marcus, he has always been a friend and a mentor to me. He has a heart for raising up the next generation of leaders. He meets young men exactly where they are and creates a place where they can be themselves without fear of judgment. Marcus loves others very well. He has a diverse background in leadership and ministry that makes him adept at influencing others of all ages. I'm proud to call him a friend and give him a recommendation for his new endeavor.
